NY and NJ may need to allocate billions for Gateway Tunnel

While on assignment for Hudson County View, a U.S. Department of Transportation official said last week in Bayonne, New Jersey that both New Jersey and New York will have to pony up more money to fund a new passenger rail tunnel under the Hudson River because it is “essentially a local transit asset.”

 

Cory Booker secures money for Gateway Tunnel

U.S. Senator (D-NJ) Cory Booker was in Bayonne recently to announce with Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis and U.S. Senator (D-NJ) Bob Menendez the sale of land at the former Military Ocean Terminal for the development of new industrial warehouses. In the following interview with the senator for Hudson County View, I ask for the senator’s reaction to the money allocated in the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill for the Gateway Tunnel.
