Jersey City PD requesting city council to restore off-duty security details

In 2017, several Jersey City police officers were caught stealing time while claiming on time sheets that they were posted on off-duty security details. The city responded by scaling back the program, but the union representing the officers say the lack of off-duty security details is causing financial hardship, especially for younger members of the force.

Competition among different sports leagues for playing fields in NYC Parks is growing

I wrote the following story for City Limits, published on Monday, August 19, 2019!

Swing by Randall’s Island on a given night, and just a little of New York City’s sports diversity will be on display. Rugby on one field, soccer on another. Gaelic football over here, maybe Australian rules football over here. On a weekend day, the parade field at Van Cortlandt Park might offer a similar mix of team equipment: cricket bats, softball gloves, hurling sticks, frisbees.

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez says that Trump is ‘weaponizing’ the Gateway Tunnel project

On Monday, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was in Hoboken to participate in a ribbon cutting for the American Legion when I had the opportunity to interview the Senator to learn the progress of the Gateway Tunnel project, which would be one of the country’s biggest infrastructure projects if it receives federal funding.
